Awesome Ordination Video

Finally! Someone has caught on film some of the power and emotion that one feels at an Ordination Mass.

If this causes a stirring in you that might be tied to a call you have been perceiving - the link at the end is if you live in New York. But don't be bashful, if you live near us, you can just head here. ;-)
"In our own time, in a world often alien and even hostile to faith, believing families are of primary importance as centers of living, radiant faith. For this reason the Second Vatican Council, using an ancient expression, calls the family the Ecclesia domestica [domestic Church]. It is in the bosom of the family that parents are 'by word and example... the first heralds of the faith with regard to their children. They should encourage them in the vocation which is proper to each child, fostering with special care any religious vocation.'" - CCC 1656
Consider how you talk about and encourage all types of vocations, particularly religious, within your own household and family.

Congrats to our Starbucks Card winner

Congrats to Jennifer. She had the most words in comments in July, and that, plus some good luck, helped push her over the top when the entry was drawn for the $25 Starbucks Card for July comments.

Congrats, Jennifer! I just emailed you to work out the details to get you your prize.

Luxury Hotel Room: Just $19 a Night

biz-rancho1_t350.jpgSuzanne sent me this last week, but this is the first chance I've had to post it.

A resort in San Jose is marketing hotel rooms in a location that's usually $219 a night for just $19 a night. Of course you cut the breakfast, the honor bar, the air-conditioning and pillows, the sheets, and the lights.

In fact, before you check in, the staff will turn off the electric to your room and move out all the furniture and furnishings.

But they'll be nice enough to leave you a tent. Bring your own bedroll.

I think this sounds awesome. Suzanne says it's the only way I would ever be able to get her to go "camping" with me. I argue that it's not camping. But it is a great way to save my company money the next time I travel to San Jose.
