Luxury Hotel Room: Just $19 a Night

biz-rancho1_t350.jpgSuzanne sent me this last week, but this is the first chance I've had to post it.

A resort in San Jose is marketing hotel rooms in a location that's usually $219 a night for just $19 a night. Of course you cut the breakfast, the honor bar, the air-conditioning and pillows, the sheets, and the lights.

In fact, before you check in, the staff will turn off the electric to your room and move out all the furniture and furnishings.

But they'll be nice enough to leave you a tent. Bring your own bedroll.

I think this sounds awesome. Suzanne says it's the only way I would ever be able to get her to go "camping" with me. I argue that it's not camping. But it is a great way to save my company money the next time I travel to San Jose.

  1. welcome back!! Havent seen an update from you in quite a while.
The campout in a electicity free/furniture free hotel room is such a neat idea. Especially for those “afraid of bugs” “afraid of the outdoors” and so on..
Glad you are back. Hope to read more soon.

  2. Thanks, Jennifer. It’s good to be back. I’ve been busy with family and life in general.
I agree… this is probably (as I mentioned) the only way I’m going to get my wife “camping.”

  3. Real Life does get in the way of “Internet life” sometimes.. doesnt it?!
Looking forward to funny camping tales…
Keep in mind, you cannot have a campfire in the hotel room for marshmallow roasting. So. you have to figure a way around that minor detail.
