Welcome Home Anglican Brothers
Tweet ThisFor those who missed it today... since it barely made the news... one of the biggest stories since 1534 when the English Parliament made King Henry VIII the head of the Church of England, breaking from the Roman Catholic Church (over his desire to remarry, remember?)
This morning, the Holy See announced the upcoming publishing of an Apostolic Constitution providing a formal means for Anglicans who so desire to be reconciled with the Catholic Church, on very generous "terms."
Some links with the story, as it's been developing all day:
(who already made this journey on his own)
(refresh his site to the homepage to see added stories from through the day)
It'll be amazing to watch as the repercussions of this unfold over the rest of our lives, as this baseline "model" for how members of the Traditional Anglican Communion can come into full communion with the Church might be expanded to others as well.
"Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are." - John 17:11b (emphasis added), Jesus in the Garden on the night before his Passion.

Signs & Icons
Tweet ThisThose who have heard me give the talk I've given at Koinonia weekends know of the importance of Signs in my life and in my background.
The politics of the piece aside, this video has some interesting insights into the effectiveness of imagery and iconography and the part they have played in recent political movements.

Tweet ThisYep, I've been away for a few weeks. But I'm back! Today's my last day of paternity, and I thought that I'd introduce our newest addition (our third son) to the readers of Bread Alive...
(Sorry it's cut off a bit here. I just re-purposed the email announcement here without resizing it.)
Mommy and baby are doing great. We're battling for sleep, but I'm also ready to get back to work on Monday...
