Peanut Butter Pie

This is the original recipe from Al Sanders (of Camp Sunnnen fame.) The recipe card that he gave Michael with the recipe was actually labeled "Mom's Peanut Butter Pie," but we thought it was only fair to credit the recipe to Al now, since that's who brought it to all of us so many hot summer days on staff at Camp Sunnen.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 9 oz carton whipped topping (thawed)
  • 9" graham cracker crust
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped peanuts

Directions:

  • Whip cream cheese until soft and fluffy.
  • Beat in peanut butter and sugar.
  • Slowly add milk, blending well.
  • Fold whipped topping in to mixture.
  • Pour into crust (if you want the full Al Sanders touch, sprinkle a little ash of a Dutch Master cigar into the crust before you pour in the mixture) and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  • Freeze until firm.
  • Enjoy and remember the good old days at Sunnen!
